Meet Kelly Hill-Ross
As a mother of two, Kelly was a writer for the Afro-American Newspaper, featuring a weekly column on single parents.
As an actress, she was one of the lead characters in Baltimore’s only and first black soap opera, The Raven, which aired on WJZ TV. She was a pioneer in establishing her business downtown in the premier district on Charles Street, where she trained beginning actors, giving them the opportunity to meet notable people like Pat Moran, casting director for the wire, Barry Shapiro from New York, and Mike Fenton from LA.
Kelly was also one of many assistants to the Project Manager of Parsons Brinckerhoff engineering firm, which parlayed the planning and design of Baltimore’s Light Rail transportation system under the leadership of then-Mayor, William Donald Schafer, who later became Governor of Maryland.
